After pursuing musical studies in various specialities (piano, chamber music, collaborative piano, a Masters in musicology on the composer Louise Farrenc), Marion Liotard, under the tutelage of Pierre Morabia, discovered through collaborative piano a wonderful profession that offered the opportunity to express herself in many different styles with diverse artists. However, it was the vocal repertoire that attracted her the most as it is deeply connected to the literary world. She therefore decided to become a vocal coach obtaining a “Premier Prix d’accompagnement” in 2004 at the Conservatoire CRR of Marseille (France).
From 2009 to 2014 she became a collaborative pianist and coach at the CNIPAL (young artist program) and was able to share her passion, talent and energy with young singers from all over the world who came to Marseille to jumpstart their careers. She accompanied many masterclasses with Yvonne Minton, Sandrine Piau, Inva Mula, Patricia Petibon, Marie-Ange Todorovitch, Louis Langrée, etc…
Marion continues to this day to work with many of the young singers she met at the CNIPAL on their role preparations as well as on different musical projects (for instance accompanying the soprano Anaïs Constans at the Victoires de la Musique Classique 2015 and the BBC Cardiff singer of the world 2015…).
She performs regularly in piano/voice recitals in various opera houses (Marseille, Avignon, Toulon, Saint-Etienne, Bordeaux, Limoges, etc…) and many festivals (Festival de Radio France, Chorégies d’Orange, etc…). Very invested in contemporary music, Marion participated in June 2010 in the founding of “Act’tempo”, an association dedicated to the development of new music. In 2010 she premiered the song cycle “Un Brasier d’Etoiles” and in 2013 the chamber opera “Médée Kali” by Lionel Ginoux. The recording in July 2016 of the CD “Un Brasier d’Etoiles” with songs by Henri Tomasi and Lionel Ginoux is the result of an intense artistic collaboration with the French soprano Jennifer Michel.
